Our Story
I'm Miguel, a former Philippine team ice hockey player, and this is my girlfriend Naz, a model. We were both in peak physical condition until life happened. New careers took over, working from home became normal, and let's just say our bodies started... getting a little too comfortable 😅.
We desperately searched for solutions for weight loss and discovered dry shirataki rice, but after testing 7 brands in the Philippines and spending ₱10,000 (yes, we went a bit overboard), we couldn't find one that matched international standards. Most options had 112-120 calories per 100g, almost the same as white rice at 130 calories, we're just burning cash at this point... We needed something that actually made sense for our weight loss goals while still tasting good with Filipino food.
So we took matters into our own hands. We invested our savings, spent 18 months working with food scientists and probably drove them crazy with our perfectionism (sorry, scientists!), tested different formulations until we created Magic Bowl. At only 68 calories per 100g that actually tastes like real rice.
Before launching, we shared it with friends, nutritionists, and coaches, all of them said the same thing: "This tastes sooo good!" which was music to our ears. Today, we have a community of 1,000+ Filipinos who believe that loving your body and loving adobo can happen at the same time.
